At the south side of the city, on top of a hill called "Pikkerbakken", lies Flakbatterie Süd. This location is part of the Stp.Gr. Frederikshavn-Süd and now a days it is part of the Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum site.
In the city you will find road signs that lead you towards the location.
After the invasion of Denmark in April 1940, the German's started to install a Heavy Flakbatterie with four 10.5cm guns at this location, with a clear view and shot at the harbour of Frederikshavn.
Around the Flak guns there are several ammunition and personnel bunkers.
A small part of the complex is still in use by the military, so closed for the public.
