At the south side of the city, on top of a hill called "Pikkerbakken", lies Flakbatterie Süd. This location is part of the Stp.Gr. Frederikshavn-Süd and now a days it is part of the Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum site.
In the city you will find road signs that lead you towards the location.

After the invasion of Denmark in April 1940, the German's started to install a Heavy Flakbatterie with four 10.5cm guns at this location, with a clear view and shot at the harbour of Frederikshavn.
Around the Flak guns there are several ammunition and personnel bunkers.
A small part of the complex is still in use by the military, so closed for the public.

At the south side of the city, on top of a hill called "Pikkerbakken", lies Flakbatterie Süd. This location is part of the Stp.Gr. Frederikshavn-Süd and now a days it is part of the Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum site.

This Sperrbatterie was designed to cover and defend the harbour of Frederikshavn, but also to control the entrance to the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Denmark.
The German's started to build this battery with four 15cm guns in 1940, together with the Flak battery and the other positions on the 70 meters high hills of Pikkerbakken.
During the war the Germans started to place the guns inside gun bunkers of the type M270 Navy model, one was still under construction at the end of the war.

At the south side of the city, on top of a hill called "Pikkerbakken", lies an 'Ugruko' as part of the Stp.Gr. Frederikshavn-Süd and now a days it is part of the Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum site.
In the city you will find road signs that lead you towards the location.

Just before you get to the top of the "Pikkerbakken" hill, you will find the bunkers from the Ugruko (Unter Gruppe Kommando Flak) on your left hand.
Near the road are two 622 bunkers with a Danish "alarm signal" installation still standing ready. Further in the wood is a FL242 bunker where the Ugruko was situated. After the war the Danish army built an aggregate next to the entrance of the bunker and modified the inside of the bunker.

On the south side of the city lies the hill called "Pikkerbakken" with on top the Stp.Gr. Frederikshavn-Süd. Which is now adays a part of the Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum site. In the city you will find road sign's that lead you up towards the location. You will find Danish Army works spread around the site; most of them build during the Cold War period. They are almost all abandoned. Only a small part of the terrain is still in use by the military because of the big antennas standing in the field.
